To be a fan of your favorite sports team can mean a number of different things. It could be as simple as putting on your team colors and watching your favorite team on your big screen TV, or it can be as extreme as having a contractual agreement to buy season tickets for a professional sports club for several years. Whatever the case may be, fans love their teams. Without fans, sports competitions would not be the same.
Besides the revenue that an average fan generates for a sports team, the passion and spirit that a fan has for their favorite team can be compared to love. For some fans, a team’s performance can affect a fan so much that it can ruin their entire day. This is the kind of intensity that die-hard sports fans have for their teams.
Whether you’re an extremist, or the guy who wears sweatpants and sits on the couch to watch the game every Sunday afternoon eating potato chips and guacamole, all fans of a common team share a very unique bond. There is a shared love by all fans for their favorite sports club. Fans express their allegiance through t-shirts, hats, flags, license plates, bumper stickers, the interior decoration of a fan’s home, etc. You name any random item, and you can probably find it in your favorite team’s logo.
